Berlian Laju Tanker (“BLT”)

 

Berlian Laju Tanker Tbk (“BLT”) is one of the largest providers of marine transportation services of liquid chemical cargoes in the world. BLT’s operating presence in Asia, Europe, North America, South America and the Middle East allow it to trade its vessels globally. In total at the end of 2008, BLT operate a fleet consisting of 61 Chemical Tankers, 14 Oil Tankers, 12 Gas Carriers and one FPSO with total tonnage in excess of 2million DWT.  

 

·                     1981 - BLT was established on March 12th 1981 based in Jakarta.  

·                     1998 - BLT bought over Asean Maritime Corporation together with its subsidiary Gold Bridge Shipping Corporation.

·                     2004 – GBLT Shipmanagement (UK) Ltd established in Glasgow

·                     2005 – BLT Dubai Representative Office Established

·                     2007 – BLT Mumbai Office Established

·                     2007 – BLT acquires Chembulk Tankers LLC USA, this acquisition makes BLT the third largest provider of marine transportation services in the world in the liquid Chemical segment.

·                     2008 – CBL Tankers do Brasil ltda was established in Sao Paulo Brazil.

GBLT (UK)

GBLT (UK) is a subsidiary of the Indonesian Ship Owner Berlian Laju Tanker (BLT), from our base in Glasgow, we commercially trade and operate BLT/Chembulk vessels trading West of Suez.

GBLT (UK) Ltd currently have responsibility for the European/Med market on behalf of BLT and in co-operation with our colleagues at Chembulk Rotterdam to trade Chembulk vessels which enter European waters.

Alongside and in co-ordination with sister company GBLT Shipmanagement Pte Singapore we offer technical services from this location to Group vessels trading into European ports.

·         2004 -GBLT (UK) was established, the role of this newly created company was to technically manage in co-ordination with sister company GBLT Shipmanagement Pte, seven vessels which had been recently purchased by BLT (4 New Builds and 3 Second hand IMO Type II Chemical Tankers).

·         2006 - GBLT (UK)  achieves ISO 9001:2000 accreditation.

·         2006 – Agreement put in place between BLT and GBLT (UK) that GBLT (UK) will have responsibility for pre and post fixture activities for all BLT vessels trading West of Suez.

·         2007 - GBLT (UK) commenced sponsoring UK Deck and Engineer Cadets.
