Mission Statement
“To serve the public interest, as well as the needs of our clients by preventing loss of life, marine casualties, and environmental pollution.”
Company Profile
The shipping group PT Berlian Laju Tanker Tbk (“BLT”) began operating in 1981, based in Jakarta and trading throughout Asia and the Middle East. Having penetrated almost all Asian markets, the company now has an operating presence in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, China and Taiwan.
With a current fleet of 51 vessels (total tonnage of 1,223,636 dwt), BLT has established itself as the largest Indonesian shipowner and the first shipping company to list its shares on the Jakarta and Surabaya stock exchanges. As part of a long-term plan of international growth, and in response to its own rapid growth and sustained success in the Far and Middle East, BLT has expanded its operations into the UK with the formation of GBLT Shipmanagement (UK) Ltd.
GBLT (UK), as the UK base of operations, has its headquarters in Glasgow; a city with an historical maritime background and thus, suitably experienced shipping personnel. With an existing fleet of 7 high grade chemical tankers (2 x 14,200dwt vessels, 2 x 11,600dwt vessels, 2 x 8,600dwt vessels and 1 x 10,300dwt vessel), and an approximate average age of just 3 years, GBLT (UK) is set to establish its trading and ship management expertise within the European and African markets.
With our partners in Singapore (GBLT Shipmanagement Pte.), we provide ship management services to over 50 vessels – including oil, chemical and gas tankers. As the Group continues to expand, and as GBLT (UK) becomes further established, we intend to introduce these services, from the UK, into the European market. GBLT (UK) will benefit from its short, open lines of communication with BLT and GBLT Singapore, which will eventually provide an international network of support for a full range of services.
